Proper knowledge and instruction is crucial from our Respiratory Therapists to help ensure compliance. If Medicare does cover the cost of your CPAP Equipment, then they will want to make sure you are using and benefiting from the use of that CPAP Machine, this is referred to as "Compliance". Medicare guidelines state compliance is only met if the machine is used for at least 4 hours each night for 70% of the nights. Medicare considers the first 90 days of CPAP use as a trial, documentation of the compliance begins after 31 days of usage and before 90 days of usage.
Downloads of the CPAP usage and a face-to-face meeting with their physician then are used to Comply with Medicare to enable continued CPAP Therapy.
